Welcome to High School
Providing an alternative high school experience for students in grades 10-12.
At South Washington Alternative High School we work to develop programming and opportunities for students that allow them to grow and develop to become career and college ready.
Academic instruction is divided into standards that are laid out in modules to allow students to track their progress. Each student has an advisor that acts as a mentor and tracks academic progress.
Community is important at South Washington Alternative High School with all staff committed to helping every student feel supported and included. Teachers personalize student learning through one-on-one conversations and building relationships. South Washington Alternative High School prepares students for life after high school. Students have a variety of career readiness options including enrolling in career and technical training at Northeast Metro 916, earning credits through employment, and taking part in dual credit courses through Century College. In addition, students take part in field trips focused on service learning, building community, and preparing students for life after high school.
